Collioure is southwest France, close to the spanish border unbless I'm mistaken.
Good sweet wine there close by called 'Banyuls' (actually produced in Collioure too).

Every country in Europe has some isolated natural beauty and you didn't really specify what type of nature you are looking for Anyway my general top picks would be Iceland or Montenegro, the latter being the cheaper option of the two.

Oh yes, even Belgium.
It's the built up areas that let it down...

Well in fairness the OP never specified how far away from the city they want to be But Belgium does have some big green spaces and while they may not have isolation of Iceland (the most isolated from what I can tell is probably Nature Parc High Venn) but I'm sure standing in the middle of them you will still feel like you are in the middle of nowhere;)

What moderator will remove this post considering it is insulting towards my country ?

At the very least I'd like you to abstain for making idiotic comments or don't expect mine to be interesting either.

I think what everyone missed was that when AndyF said "Even Belgium?" he added a wink to show us he was joking. I think we all know there are some beautiful parts in Belgium. The smileys are to let people know when we're joking.

I don't expect moderators to write like trolls.
The smiley doesn't change much.

Woinparis, I apologise if I caused offence. It was said with a wink to try to make clear it wasn't intended too seriously, though I do think it is the destination I've enjoyed the least.

I've been twice, both on work trips to the Gent area. Regular readers will know I enthuse about landscapes, and my experience there was one of grey flat lands with not much to look at - it was not for me.

I think I'm allowed to hold an opinion without it being trolling, even if it does differ with yours. I've no doubt you've had bad travel experiences in places that I thought were great. We're all different.

I have never been much of a hiker being a physically lazy person, although I like nature as much as cities. I find being on a boat is very isolating and peaceful (especially if someone else does the work of running the boat) without the physical effort required to get there. So - I have not done it, but maybe charter a boat in Greece - lots of little islands and places to go.
