Hey guys,
My name is Lukas and I am 21 years old.
I am planning a trip through Europe by taking Public Bus Transportation only. Here you can see my planned travel route. I will do all of this in 3 Weeks of time from June 20 to July 10th. I will start off in Groningen, where I study, and go to my Hometown Münster in Germany from where I will go to Frankfurt which is where my trip actually starts. I will go to Ljubjana on June 21 and stay there for a couple of days. Then I am planning on going to Nice, France, Barcelona and Madrid next and eventually I will arrive in Lisboa by July 4th.
What do you guys think about my trip? Do you have any suggestions for things not to miss out in one of these cities or suggestions for good Hostels?
I will stay in each city for 2-3 days before I move on. Anyone thats interested in joining my trip at some point I would like to hear from you :)
As this is my first ever backpacking trip, also some general tips on what to pay special attention to when travelling are welcome :)

Best regards,
Lukas

For Barcelona i can recommend the Kabul Hostel http://www.kabul.es, was there several times, located next to the Rambla.
Personaly i find the Marseille/Avignon (the http://www.auberge-bagatelle.com ist quite good)/Aix en Provence area more interesting then Nice. Barcelona to Lisboa i would preferences via Granada/Sevilla...

I haven't stayed there, but have heard lots of good reports about St. Christopher's Hostel in Paris. Here's their web site. Click here for St. Christopher's Paris Canal Web Site

Other than that, we stay in Hotel de France Quartier Latin in the center of Paris near a Metro and bus line and an easy walk to most tourist sights. You can find it on booking.com here on TravellersPoint. Click here for Accommodations on TravellersPoint

The booking.com web site here on TP is a great place to start looking for accommodations. We use it all the time. It covers hostels, hotels, apartments, cottages, farm stays and all sorts of things. Most of the places don't require you to pay until you get there and most allow free cancellation up to 24 to 48 hours before your reservation. Read the fine print to check on these things.

Enjoy your trip.

Sounds great

I did something similar but not as extended as you, I took the train from Ljubljana. Though there was bus options just outside the main station... I decided to take the train as it wasn't pre-planned & got a good deal

enjoy Barcelona -Ramblas street, some good restaurants & clubs (just be much more watchful of your belongings near the stations/metro in Barcelona & if you are in Paris)
There are a lot of things to see and do, not sure what your interests are for instance the popular ones are Sagrada Familia (famous church), Park Guell, some famous artistic Casas (houses), Gothic quarter, Barca football stadium, beach, etc.

Lisbon's nice as well- a lot to see and do for instance- Belem tower , Rossio square, Santa Justa lift for views, some nice neighborhoods, etc.

I'm Going to Madrid next month (post your dates), would like to hear from you about the experience....

Cheers
