Where is the best place to see Northern Lights aurora in Finland and Norway on July

Is it likely to see the lights in July?

Chances of seeing the Northern Lights in July are close to zero. There is daylight for (almost) 24 hours a day during that time and the best times are actually October/November or around Feb to April.

Wrong season. July is for viewing the midnight sun though technically it is the tail end of the season but still a worth while phenomena to observe;)

If you are really keen to see aurora in July, you need to go to somewhere on aurora belt in southern hemisphere!

It usually shines during the month of September through March. Advice: if the sky is starry then the chances of seeing the shining lights is very good.

I would recommend you to check Rovaniemi region on Mid-September - the great time to spot the aurora :)

I am from Finland and i have never seen Northern lights September so i had to google it, naturally. And finds out that it is possible to see them in fall. But still i would recommend early spring, when there is still snow on the ground and nights are still dark :) And for the place either Rovaniemi or somewhere even more north :)
