HI i am planning to stay in a hotel next to this detroit airport, and i am a light sleeper, Is the airport noisy, like at night time from like 9pm till morning? And if it is, how noisy is it, will it disturb or is it just some light noise?
Thanks.

I don't know about Detroit but we've stayed at airport hotels the night before an early flight many times and never been bothered with noise. They seem to do extra sound proofing because of their location. We honestly have never heard a sound. You do have to keep windows closed though.

I had another thought. Why not check reviews of the hotel you are thinking about using? If there is a lot of noise, people will mention it. There is a link right here on TP to booking.com and they have very good reviews.

I've never had a problem with noise and I've stayed at hotel near airports in NYC, Seattle, Boise, etc.....I usually like to get a room with a view of the airports to watch the planes come in and out.

I've never had any issues with noise in airport hotels. I would think they're all pretty well soundproofed.

I have only stayed at two airport hotels, the last one quite recently and it was only a street away from the airport. Neither I found I could hear any planes but if your are worried look up your hotel and the written reviews. If something is an ongoing problem e.g can't sleep due to noise, it will be mentioned a few times by different people.

No. Definitely not noisy. Airport hotels are almost always the most dry, quiet, bland, straightforward places you'd find in a hotel. Anybody staying in them is thinking the same as you

I've stayed at a lot of airport hotels over the years. Of course there are occasions where jagoffs make a bunch of noise...I think it's rare. Most people are only there because of a layover, or because they are on business, and most are quiet. Even in Latin America, where, in my experience, in most hotels no one thinks twice about showing up at two in the morning and having a goddamn hallway party outside your door.
