Quoting Shehin

What do you mean by 'anything'?
Just 3 of you (Inc baby)?
What are you interested in seeing ?
I'd guess you aren't interested in partying (if you have a baby with you), but does architecture and museums do it for you?
and/or scenery/castles or is the food/drink really important?
Are you using public transport?
Being the Capital, Zurich has excellent connections to the rest of the country and although it's a quiet place by European citiy standards, it does have quite a lot going for it. However the lakes Locarno, Lucerne, Geneva/Lausanne also are all very pleasant, however they can also all be very expensive...

It's been pointed out to me that Zurich isn't the capital city.
I'm surprised but bow to others greater knowledge.
However the point stands that it has excellent connections to the rest of the country.

Thanks for your response!
I am more interested in scenary , castles and also museums... but mainly into the nature, the mountains etc ...
Iam also confused regarding our transportation. We are planning to rent a car or is it better to public transportation??

Freiburg and Luzern are nice areas, but there are lots of other nice places so I would rent a car and go explore. Although public transportation is well organized in Switserland I Always think it's more fun to just go off the beaten track a bit and just drive to a village and explore

You can see impressive scenery from a train (It's Switzerland's 'specialist subject') and certainly if you want to go to another city to see that city for a day then the trains will be the most efficient way and avoids the issues of parking/possible costs.
They are usually very reliable both physically and timetable-wise, but there's so much countryside there that renting a car for at least some of the time will allow you to see more.
