Please help us!! My friends are going to visit Hanoi next month, and they consider visiting Hanoi for 3 days 2 nights. Is it enough or not?

Oh, it actualy depends on your interest, time and budget.

In 2016, I booked a package tour with a tour agency in 5 days 4 nights. They guided me to visit many tourist attractions. In the end, I regretted a little bit because didn't book the package tour in 7 days to discover Hanoi more completely. Hanoi is so amazing and beautiful that I wanted to stay there more, but I had to head to Ninh Binh, which is also breath-taking and mind-blowing. Therefore, consider and choose a suitable itinerary.

Please give us the name of the tour agency and your review. I'm so confused with a hoard of tour agencies to choose from

Quoting huyenbui

Please give us the name of the tour agency

But do it by private message between you please. A thread by first time posters listing tour agency recommendations is likely to fall foul of our spam rules.

I spent several days in Hanoi - it's a great city with loads to see and do. There's absolutely no need to do a tour though as it's really easy to get around and see the sights yourself.

As others have said already, you can easily spend 10 days in Hanoi, so how long you spend there is your choice but you won't have seen it all in only 3 days unless you have a very limited view of what's worth seeing.
On top of that, doing it through a tour company is both expensive and rather insulates you from the real Hanoi. By doing it independently you will see much more of the city.

Ha Noi is an amazing city and I really recommend staying in the Old Quarter - lots of narrow full of colour streets. Walk around the Lake of the Restored Sword (about 30 minutes) and particularly first thing in the morning. I do have an extensive blog on our 6 nights staying in the city which does include a video. The water puppet theatre is great, so to the Temple of Literature.

Out of Ha Noi, good to visit Sa Pa and Tam Coc (near Ninh Binh) both worth at least 2 full days. Ha Long bay is a must do.

IMO, 3 days 2 nights in Hanoi is enough (Not including Halong Bay, Sapa, Ninh Binh...).
