Hey Bucharest-experts!

We're a group of 6 Dutch guys in our early thirties who have been friends for 15+ years. We've moved to different cities in different countries, but still go on a guys' weekend away every year. This time I'm in the 2-man organising committee, and we've decided to go to Bucharest... mainly because that was one of the few remaining locations in Europe that we could all get reasonable flights to! We'll be going in the weekend of 19 to 21 of October.

Now that we're reading up more about the city, it appears that there's not actually that much to do? I'm sure we'll manage to entertain ourselves in the evenings/nights, but tradition holds that we book at least one activity as well.

To give you an idea: last year we spent a day exploring Sofia on rented scooters, and managed to convince a local guy who wasn't even a tour guide to show us around. Which was great. In the years before there's been beer tours, kalashnikov shooting, etc.

The ideas that we've had so far include:
1 - Visit that weekend's home match of Dinamo Bucuresti (if we can get tickets).
2 - Rent a car and take a day trip to the rural area outside of Bucharest (heard some horror stories about driving in Romania though?)
3 - Would love to get gig tickets for some local lively band (Don't even care much about the type of music - even if it's shit it'll still be funny. Finding it very difficult to find any details for planned gigs in October though!)

Any further suggestions for fun/original/random/wacky/interesting things to do, special events going on, or advice regarding one of the existing ideas mentioned above?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-1- sure no probs
-2- we used a train. Long journey but we stayed an overnight so was good. Recommended.
-3- need more local knowledge here

In relation to Bucharest - it's a cool and biog city. I enjoyed much more than expected. While it's not your usual metropolis but well worth a visit for few days.
