Can anyone give me some up-to-date information on getting overland from Djibouti City to Asmara, Eritrea? Is it possible to do this overland with a bus to the border and then another one to Asmara or is a flight the only way? Thanks :):)

To my knowledge the Eritrean Djibuti border is still closed.
The Ethiopian Eritrean border did open a few days ago, if crossing for foreigners is possible i don't know, there might be also a restricted area after the border. The embassy in Addis Abeba is not open for foreigners so far.
Appearently a bus line is planed, but not running for now.
From Sudan you might find some transport to the border, and an other one from there.

Thanks Uli - knew the Ethiopia/Eritrea border had reopened but we don't want to have to go back into Ethiopia and spend another USD80 or so on a visa to go straight out again. It looks like we might have to fly and the missus hates flying!!! Cheers:):):)
