Hey everyone!
We┬┤re a group of international students. We have to do a school porject based on pallning a tour. Our idea was a cycling tour from Frankfurt down to Lichtensteig.
We would like to know your opinion?
The tour will last for 8 days, there will be stops along our way, where we will also visits parks, nature and the Black Forest. The cuisine will be mainly in vegerterian/vegan. We would like to know if sound interesting and if / how much you willing to pay for the tour?
Thank you in advance for your time.

You lost me at the vegan part. The cycling part sounds super fun. I've cycled down the Rhine and in the Black Forest before and it's wonderful, but I really wouldn't want my diet restricted when travelling.

Of course, that's not to say there isn't a market for vegan cycling tours. I'm just not that market.

The cycling trip sounds great but the food doesn't. I'd be more interested if you were planning local cuisine that was seasonal. It seems a shame to ride through a countryside and not eat what is grown and eaten locally. Of course, I realize vegetables are grown locally, but why limit yourself? There is wild boar, venison, duck, etc. It's fun to eat these things that are not available at home (at least where I live).

Just a thought.

Thanks for your respond,
we just thought our target group would be vegan / vegetarians. But we will just take this as of option so you can also enjoy the local seasonal food:)

to make it more clear:
Our targeet group are millenials (18-30).

How many km are you willing to cycle each day?
We thought about 50-80km, depends if we planned activities or not.

would you like to have a day rest?

Thank you!!

Are the people in your fictional group sports people with mountain bikes? If not, you may want to take topography into consideration. Cycling through and across the Black Forest is not my idea of fun. Along the major valleys it's fine but then they'd have to cross some notable ridges. The solution might be including a scenic train ride - keyword: Schwarzwaldbahn, like from Hausach (after cycling up Kinzig valley, seeing Gengenbach and Vogtsbauernhof museum village on the way) over to Donaueschingen to cover the most mountainous part. Bikes can be taken on the trains for free on this stretch, by the way.

Vegan food will be a real problem in the Black Forest area, though, since local people there believe that chicken, and vegetable with bacon in it, are perfect to feed vegetarians (personal experience) - you may want to rethink that idea;-)

P.S. I am running a little blog in here which I call "Day trips around Karlsruhe": Since your route passes through our region, you may find some inspiration for destinations and places to see in there, although it is certainly far from complete.
