Hi. I’ve applied for a Non Immigrant VISA (due to having a criminal record in the past) and I have got an appt for the American Embassy in London. I’ve read so much info on the process and have prob confused myself!
I have read that at the appt the Consular can make a decision there and then as to grant a visa or not... but I’m also reading that if u have a past criminal record the Consular will say that a “waiver of ineligibility” is required (more admin processing which can take several months).
Im so confused.... Can the Consular who interviews u make the final decision at the interview to which way it goes? Is there a slim chance they could say “yes” at the interview to authorise a visa? TIA
