Hi everyone, I was just planning on going to New York for Christmas, but by myself and was thinking it was a bad idea. If am I the only one planning on celebrating Christmas alone in another city? Anyone want to meet up and do our own Christmas?
New York Christmas Going Alone
Better to take someone with you. Luckily,I will be traveling with my wife. Yaayyy!!!
That sounds a bit callous Donald. Christmas can be a horribly lonely time and someone planning to improve it should be applauded.
Christmas alone can be nice. There are all sorts of concerts and special markets to enjoy. Just be sure to reserve your Christmas dinner since a lot of restaurants will be closed and the ones that are open can fill up quickly. I'd aim for a large, friendly restaurant, possibly in a hotel that was trying to make the holidays special. They would have decorations and traditional holiday foods . . . and lots of people.
Parks and city streets in NYC are great at Christmas. Have a great time!
One way to increase the chances of celebrating with others is to stay at a hostel or guesthouse. People are generally happier to meet other travelers at hostels than at hotels.
Hi, do you live in the US? I have been flirting with the idea of getting away over the Christmas period but in Europe.
I did Christmas on my own in Sydney last year. Had a great time! I would recommend doing it, but you do have to be a certain type of personality (which, if you're considering going, you probably have). Talk to people, join people, be trusting but not too trusting!
It's always better to travel with someone at least on days like Christmas.
