Newbie to this forum so cut me some slack !

I just returned from 3 weeks in Patagonia, hiking the spectacular mountains of Chile and Argentina. I set up a blog post here with photos and blog of our travels in case anyone is interested. Patagonia

Hi Neurotraveler, welcome to Travellerspoint.

You posted several links to your blog now. Please take into account that we don't normally allow people to promote their blog entries in the forums like this as it would quickly overwhelm the forums if every blogger started a thread about every forum post they created.

But, as you're new and the blog is posted on Travellerspoint, I will cut you some slack as you say and leave them for now :) Plus, it's kind of an awesome blog entry as well with lots of great photos of your trip.

What would you say the highlight for you was of this trip?

Hi Peter,

I thought that since it was a travellerspoint blog, it would be acceptable. But if it's against the rules, I'm happy to comply. Is there a central site where traveler's blogs can be accessed? I'm curious to see what other blogs have written about places we have been. For example, how would I find other blogs on Patagonia?

As for the highlight of the trip, of course the mountains and glaciers are spectacular. Having been raised in Colorado, I know what mountains are like. But of course appreciating mountain scenery is very weather dependent and not terribly challenging unless one has to hike up a steep cliff. I really liked the challenge of photographing the guanacos against the mountains. They are much less prone to being spooked when seeing a human (as compared to say deer here in the US).

There are a couple of spots. A few moderators keep eye on new entries being posted and highlight them in this section of the site.

Also, there is a somewhat buried page that has a breakdown of all blog entries by country

Then there is of course the site search - found under the main menu of the site. Here's the blog entries for Patagonia
