Very recently I've started to write few blogs here. However they are not visible under

https://www.travellerspoint.com/community/europe/

I have created them without password protections and to be visible to all. I'm clearly missed something and I hope you can advise.

Thanks
Todd

Blog entries listed on "Blog highlights" are manually selected ("featured") by Peter (and maybe a few other volunteers?), with not nearly enough time on their hands to do so regularly. Most blog entries won't ever show up on the highlights page.
Your blog entries do show up on country-specific pages like Switzerland Travel Blogs, which is linked to from the Switzerland page on the travel guide.

Making recently published blog entries more visible again on the site is somewhere on Peter's backlog, after he had to drastically reduce their visibility a couple of years ago due to a massive spam blog influx. (We don't want a repeat of that problem, so figuring out how to go about this in the best way is not as trivial as it might seem.)

Yes, I believe a few volunteers do moderate the blogs and look for a selection to feature, just as some of us do for the photos. I've been blogging here a lot for a couple of years now and don't think I've ever had one featured, so please don't feel left out if yours aren't either

Not at all...just wasn't sure where to find my blogs being published publicly.

I have been a member since May. I had somewhat the same question, not just in terms of seeing my own posts, but in trying to read other blogs. I would do searches on countries and would end up in dead ends with blogs coming up that were private or simply had no content. It was only once I read Sander's post that I found that one had to go to the country-specific pages to find the active blogs. So, I think the blogs are well hidden from the spammers!

I think this is an area that needs to be improved, and it would be great if the blog highlights were updated on a regular basis.

By the way, Sarah, you have been featured. It was about time.

How can I get to the blogs that other people have written in a specific place? Is there any shortcut? I tried to find a blog about either Beaufort SC or Beaufort NC, and I thrashed around smartly before finding anything.

The only places listed in the NC area are the big cities (Charlotte, Raleigh etc) and the Outer Banks. The OBX have only one linked place although others are listed.

Is there some place that is realtively easy to access where I could type in a place name and get back blogs about those places?

The search field in the (expanding) menu on the left would do that. If I search for "Beaufort Carolina" (I added "Carolina" to the search to avoid all the false positives that aren't about those places), and then switch to the "blog entries" tab, there are 32 blogentries listed.

At country level the easiest way is to go through the guide, and then click on "[X] blog entries from [country]"; that uses country-level tagging of blog entries for aggregated results - but since there's no such tagging for placenames, you have to rely on full text search.

FYI - there are two Beauforts in the Carolinas, but that works

I've been having a good time looking at blogs of places I've been. But I think there should be some way to tell if a blog is private so you don't go to look at it and then come up with a dead end.
