Is there any tour group/guide that people would recommend over the other for a "trek up the hill"? I'm a single guy wanting to join others and considering doing this trip sometime in the next 2 or 3 years for my next "Big Trip". Not looking for luxury, more the cheaper to middle class level of guides to do it. Any suggestions? Just trying to get any idea of it going.

We went up Kili three years ago with Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventures. We took the long Rongai route, 7D6N specifically because the longer the trip, the greater probability of success. There were four of us, all aged 52-59 and all of us made it to the summit. Kili Heroes were reasonably cheap and very well organised. If you do go with them, I suggest you ask for Mweyni as your guide - he was brilliant!
PM me if you want more details but I'm presently in Ethiopia where internet access is spasmodic at best! - But you have plenty of time. :):)
