Just a reminder. Check the expiration date of your passport. It may not be that convenient to get a replacement overseas.

Have fun.

Thank you all these are great ideas!

Our interests are mainly architecture, history, culture, and beaches. Not necessarily in that order! Not big hikers though we do short ones now and then. We like to snorkel but don’t scuba dive. I like the idea of a separate carryon. We always end up buying cheap knives for cutting limes etc and replacing larger size bath products. Have to weigh that against the “hassle of the extra bag. Not so much checking it but carrying it!

I'm told that Philippines, Borneo and Indonesia are all excellent places for snorkelling and scuba.
Most of the Beach/Island resorts have dive shops etc. Although an inter-web search of the condition of the water for the planned time would be wise, as it can get murky after a storm.
If you can get hold of a backpackers guide book (like Lonely Planet or Rough Guide) then I find them very useful. Lots of info etc, however they do get out of date quickly so use it as a guide, not as gospel...

Similarly there are lots of YouTube Vloggers in all these places, and between the 'look-at-me/wannabe lifestyle-leaders' there are some very useful ones.
You may have to go back through his previous vlogs but I think 'My Philippine Dreams' did a good one about swimming with the whale sharks at Oslob.

And don't forget the guide section on here!

Would recommend to do some research for Morocco as the weather will be nice at this time of the year. alternatively as you are heading East consider Oman.
