Hello guys, wondering if you could help me out.
Wanting to go back to Malaysia, (last time was mainland only) this time to scuba dive / snorkel / chill! I know there are absolutely great islands in Malaysia. Which one took your fancy? Any travellers heading that way soon? Which are accessible? Which are just perfect? Thanks

Langkawi fits the bill - very relaxed, a great place to the south to snorkel with sharks and easily avcessible.

I thought Pangkor was great, but can't say what the diving is like...
Easy to get to by ferry from Lumut.

If you're a member of a scuba club they may have a list of places as most clubs seem to do organised visits.

Sipadan is very good for diving (Hammerhead Sharks, Turtles...) and snorkeling, you have to stay at a different islamd, Mabul, or at Semporna, plane to Tawau and bus to Semporna.
Tioman is good for diving, Air Batang (ABC village) is always open, ferry from Mersing (might not be running on days with very bad weather).
Perhentian Islands are good for diving and snorkeling, closed from November to March. Ferry from Kuala Besut.
