Hi people.
I'm here annoying you again.
I've seen that the trip from Glasgow to Liverpool is pretty long.
So I want to know if there is some point of interest between the two cities as to split the journey and spend a night or a day in that point.
Thanks very, very much for your tips.

It's not such a long trip - maybe two or three hours by train I expect.

But if you want to break the journey, the Lake District national park is midway. You could leave the train at Penrith station and get a bus to Keswick, stay there overnight. The town has lots of accommodation and eateries, great friendly pubs, and you can stroll from town to the lake in ten minutes, or carry on with walks around the lake. There are also ferries across the lake and various hikes you can do from town without needing a car.

Glasgow to Liverpool by train takes from 3.5 hours. It's quite an interesting journey, passing through some lovely countryside.

If you want to break your journey you could leave the train at Penrith though I'd suggest getting the train or bus to nearby Kendal rather than Keswick, which is a lot further away. Keswick's location is lovely but Kendal has lots of interest (two castles, river, ancient alleyways, a separate area with an ancient church) and is a very pleasant place to spend a day's exploration. If you stay for two nights you could get the bus from Kendal to Keswick, travelling via Windermere and Grasmere (you could easily stop off at either or both).

Lancaster is another alternative. It's a pleasant town with a very interesting castle, some Roman remains and a good museum.

Carlisle is also worth a visit. Lots of interesting history, an ancient cathedral, a castle and some very good museums.
