Hello,

I am an undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) course in India. Is it possible for me to get a work permit in order to do an internship at a German University for a period of about 3 months before completing by B.Tech coursework? (as I would be paid during the internship)
If possible could anyone of you please let me know the steps which I need to follow in order to get it?
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Your own university should be able to provide you with information about paid internships abroad.

If your internship application is accepted by a German university, whether paid or not, they will be able to assist and guide you with visa requirements and visa application. Your should first discuss the issue with your own university and then, if feasible, research and apply for paid internships at specific German universities.

Most internships are school approved so there should be a letter from your school stating where you were posted for your internship. The letter should assist you in your visa application. Another thing is are you from india or you are just there because of school???

@NnamAries I already have a letter of invitation from my German supervisor. I am from India. As my supervisor is willing to pay me during the internship period, should the details about the funding be also mentioned in the invitation letter? What other things would essentially be required in order to get a work permit?

Have you tried searching the German Embassy (India) website?
If it doesn't give details then it may give links to the appropriate websites.

I'm really not sure about that because some internship are also unpaid so probably you should specify it. But i feel once you get a permit to go to Germany, it should cover it, paid or unpaid
