I know how to change the postcard template so that the print is bigger.

What I would like to do now is make the page of the Default template a little wider so that two photos can fit together, and also make the type a bit bigger. Is that possible?

I can only help with the font size. Yes, this can easily be done.

Open the template. In there, almost at the top, under the headline saying
/* BASIC STYLES ------ */
you find a line that begins like this:

body {margin:0;padding:0;font-family: Georgia, serif;font-size: small; ...

Change this to font size: medium and click the "Update" button below. Then check if you like the result.

That is the way I do it in the POSTCARD template. But I do not see that option in the DEFAULT

I think you change the width like this. Look for this part of the template:

/* CONTENT AREA
The large left hand block where all the entries are shown

  • /

#blogcontent {
width: px;

Experiment with increasing the number after width - I have mine set at 770 but I can't recall what the default is nor find out without starting a new blog! Be aware though that if you go too wide you start to overlap with content on the right-hand side and I don't know what changes would be needed to fix that.

It really is a matter of trial and error in my experience. Good luck!

Yes, I just experimented with my own and 770 seems to be as far as you can go - 775 sent all the side content (tags etc) to the bottom!

The width works, and I changed the pixels of the main body font to 14 - it isn't the same as in the Postcard template.

No, I've found they are all a bit different - I believe they were all developed by different people which may explain that
