Quoting karazyal

Lub D Hostels has 2 places in Bangkok and one in Phuket. Not a cheap hostel, there are small basic hotels and guest houses around the same price range.

I've been having a research about places to stay, I wont be in phuket very long but I'm looking at hostels purely for the sociability factor. I've been looking at slumber party hostel, its around £6 per night and it looks decent. Any personal recommendations?

It's a long time since I've stayed in a hostel (You probably hadn't been born... or maybe a baby/toddler), so I really can't help with a recommendation.

But I would again ask if you've looked at the visa situation.
Overstaying a visa is quite a problem in many countries.
For many years it was nothing more than a small fine in TH but now it's changed and become a problem which can include large fines AND going on a list which prevents you returning to the country for some years.
After you've been there once then it's very likely you'll want to return at the first opportunity but won't be able to...

Sorry, can't help you. I don't do hostels.

" around £6.. "

I think this is just under 300 baht. Have padlocks with you in case they have a place to lock your stuff up. Have luggage that you can lock too. (I kind of like private rooms with my own TV and bathroom.)

There is more enforcement of overstays now. A new "sheriff in town" affectionately called "Big Joke."

Lone female, possibly drunk, late at night accepting a ride from a stranger.

(Koh Phangan for the Full Moon Parties. Young people involved in excessive drinking and sometimes taking drugs.)

I think it is important to read the comments from this story.

"She however could not identify the nationality of the man, saying she was so drunk."

If a tourist gets assaulted in TH drink or drugs are involved 99.99% of the time.
It does make you wonder where these people come from, that makes them so oblivious to the dangers of getting so completely legless...
I feel sure Norway (where this victim came from) isn't generally a dangerous place, but everywhere becomes dangerous when excessive booze or drugs are involved.
Common sense should mean everyone knows not to get into this state ever whilst they're alone or with people they don't trust completely

It's like these idiot westerners that go to radicalized regions of the world with zero common sense but the belief that if they think good things will happen then they will happen because everyone loves one another. Even though history shows that a fair few of these people have come to serious grief, and some have just disappeared (assisted by a knife, sword or gun) leaving distraught families/friends whilst sane people just shake their heads in disbelief at their naivety.

Example. Western women who think it would be cool to be an ISIS Bride!
