Hi,

Is there a regular ferry service between Bagamoyo and Stone Town Zanzibar. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Regards,

See this link: ps://www.bagamoyo.com/travel_details.html

I took the ferry to Zanzibar from Dar es Salaam. Please note you will need extra time to travel around Dar es Salaam because of traffic.

That's the conventional way. I was curious about a direct ferry.

Sorry, I can't help you further. Your best bet would be to ask once you are there. That usually is the case if you're looking to travel off the beaten path. Please be advised, however, that sometimes it's best to travel on well-traveled routes, particularly if safety and security are of concern. Take it from someone who has traveled extensively in difficult places.

Ferry only from Dar es Salam to Stone Town, from there to Pemba and not very often from Pemba to Tanga (north of Bagamoyo).

Local boats might go but not in a regular basis (appearently not legal for foreigners and might be expensive).
