Hello!

I am wondering if anyone ever have been traveling to Azerbaijan?
Can you tell me about your impressions? Where did you stay and which activites you are reccomending there?
Did you use travel agency`s services or travelled by yourself?

Hi Dinara K,
Your picture/images suggest you are representing a tour company in Azerbaijan. Not sure what is the point of such a post in that case?

I would suggest to read the Forum Rules before posting anything further.

Hello! Yes , you are right I am working in tourism company in Azeraijan. But I am not going to promote my company on forums.
I am new in sphere of tourism and I want to understand better people who are travelling to Azerbaijan,
because local and foreigners have different views on the ways of spending time in new country.

For this reason, I want to know the opinions of people about traveling to Azerbaijan and what is interesting to them here.
I can call it my personal goal.
But anyway thank you for your comment and warning.

Hi Dinara

Earlier today someone said on one of the forums that there are different types of travellers. Some want to meet the people and eat the local food. Some want to see the scenery and architecture. And some want to relax on a beach. So there is not just one type of traveller.

I can't be specific because I haven't been to Azerbaijan, but I am the sort of traveller who wants to see scenery and architecture. My favourite thing in a city is a walking tour hosted by a local person, this lets me see what they think is interesting, and sometimes gives me their view on their country or the world. I often look up above the ground level to see the original features of a building, which may still be on view even if the ground level is now signage for McDonald's or a coffee shop! If I am going beyond the city then I want to see mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, lakes, rivers, trees, etc. If there is an easy hike (one or two hours) to a summit viewpoint, that's what I choose. And if there are natural geothermal features like hot springs then I will be there. :)

Exactly. Of course everything depends on traveller , what he likes in general - walks and sightseeing tours on the theme of architecture and attractions, or some activities like hiking, walking in the mountains and wildernes.

I also heard about a new trend such as CouchSurfing, maybe it is new only for me because I never tryed it and have not so many info about it. but I think if accomodation is provided by a local person and he/she communicates with you at ease - you can better understand how people live in there and feel the city itself.
