Folks.
Can anyone shed some light on what a solo traveller should do if they wanted to start from Chile to see the Salt Flats?
Is there a tour company someone can recommend?
Thanks in advance.

You are thinking of the bolivian salt flats?
There are a lot of tour companies in San Pedro de Atacama which offer2, 3 or 4 night trips.
Just look around.

There are also salt flats in Chile itself, in parts of the Atacama. These can be visited on a day trip from San Pedro de Atacama. Whereabouts in Chile will you start from? It's a big country so it would help to be more specific. If you're in Santiago you'll need to fly to Calama and get a transfer from there to San Pedro. Many companies offer packages or you could book flights and transfer yourself.

My blog entry about our visit to the salt flats may be of interest: https://toonsarah.travellerspoint.com/20/

A few years ago we had a great 3D2N trip through the Salar de Uyuni starting in San Pedro with Candelaria (office in San Pedro). There were six in our 4x4 jeep and we still keep in touch. It's a brilliant trip.
