My wife and I have a layover in Changi Airport early October this year via air Singapore at 2:35pm and leaving through Swiss Air at 11:10pm.

I’ve aware of the free city tours, but there’s too many uncertainties with bookings, plus I’ve heard mixed reviews. Also, there is a single Singapore immigration entry limit - the tour would count as one as we’re required to be with the tour the entire time, and we want to visit Jewel which would also be considered an additional entry.

3:15 deplane, immigration/customes, getting cash

3:45pm-6pm in the city centre (marina Bay Area?)

6pm-8:30pm Cab back to airport and explore Jewel

8:30pm Leave Jewel for terminal/gate/security for Swiss Air flight at 11:10pm

- Does timing look ok?

- Recommendations on how to make the most of 2h15m in the city? We’d like to see Marina Bay and definitely eat at a hawker centre. Suggestions on additional sites? Chinatown? ideal Hawker centre?

- Recommendations on making the most of our ~2h at Jewel?

- Are there guides that could support us either direct from the airport or in the city centre that could customize our time together within our specific travel window?

- Would a SIM card for such a short trip be recommended?

Open to any other suggestions or tips or things we should be aware of doing a layover trip through Changi Singapore. Thanks!

You are giving your self just 2hr for the city. It is very short and I wonder if it;s worth it. As never been in Jewel (as recently opened attraction) I can not comment on this. But I would choose one attraction only and would enjoy more relaxing experience.

You may find that the slightly delayed arrival of your flight or jetlag (You didn't mention where you're coming in from) will knock your plans into the weeds.
However if you're on time and not exhausted then one of the attractions may be possible, as ToddP says.
Two would look to be pushing it though.

Like others I think this is over ambitious. Flights are late, there are delays with airbridges or passport control etc. Even if there is no jetlag there is certainly fatigue getting off a flight. You have time to do something but not various somethings and I've no idea why you would want to buy a simcard for such a brief time!

If things ran to time I think I'd try to see the gardens by the bay, have a stroll round and see the Merlion. Go up to the observation deck of the skypark (?) hotel. The one built like a cruise ship anyway.

Jewel sounds fun for those who don't have time to see the city but ultimately sounds a bit of a manufactured entertainment. I'd skip it and focus on seeing a bit of real Singapore with the available time. ...Or a Singapore Sling in the long bar in Raffles if you're so inclined (though it's not the original long bar).
