Blog entry duplicated

Travel Forums System Talk Blog entry duplicated

I have put this query in a message to Peter as I suspect he's the only person who can sort it out, but I thought I'd post it here as well, to see if anyone else has ever had the same issue and can explain what went wrong!

Some thing very odd has happened with my latest blog entry. It may be because I edited it after publication, but I often do that and haven't had this problem before. Somehow it has managed to create two almost identical entries! I was puzzled because I knew I had six comments but could only see three each time I loaded the page, and not always the same three, and then I clicked what had happened. I could just delete the wrong one but then I would lose the nice comments

The relevant entries are;
https://toonsarahengland.travellerspoint.com/26/ - this is the wrong one that needs removing once the comments are transferred, if feasible
https://toonsarahengland.travellerspoint.com/27/ - this is the one I would like to keep, with all comments intact and the remainder added

I've asked Peter if he can move the comments before I delete the wrong version, but if not I'll have to get on to the friends who commented on the 'wrong' version and see if they're OK to re-comment on the correct one. Unless anyone here knows if it's possible to sort it myself???

Happened to me before. I was amending something on an old post and rather than saving it for it created a duplicate as a brand new entry. Can't remember exactly what I was doing. anyway I deleted the 'new' entry.

Glad I'm not the only one, but I'm reluctant to delete an entry that has several rather lovely and interesting comments

I think it happened to me once, but I cannot remember the specifics. It may have been when I lost my connection in the middle of doing stuff.

I moved my comment - I couldn't tell which was the right one and which was the wrong one but now it is on both.

I've just updated the entry so all the comments are under the one entry now and the wrong one is removed.

Not sure what happened either - it's probably something to do with the automatic draft creating system but I can't work it out.

Thanks so much Peter, you’re a star! I’ll try to remember to look out for this in the future so I can remove a duplicate before anyone comments

Every time I try to access that blog post now I get a 404 error message

Are you trying blog 26 (which have been removed as per request) or blog 27? The latter one works well

I was just clicking on the little icon in the upper right which said that Sarah had written a blog. It didn't have a number on it.

Yes that's the first version which Peter has since deleted. You would only see the 26 if you were able to get into it, as it's in the url, but if you use the version with 27 at the end, as in my original post, you should find it - although I see from your comments that you have done so already ;)
