Incidentally the company that does accessible travel that I used in the Netherlands last year has refused to have me as a client anymore.

Sounds intriguing! :)

5.Stewart Island

That's a bit left-field compared to the rest - what particularly draws you to Stewart Island?

The section of the trip that they planned had two good things about it. The two tours were excellent. One was a walking tour of Amsterdam and one was a tour to outlying villages. Also the lady that picked us up and dropped us back off at the airport was excellent.

The rest of it was just one thing after another, and I was quite vocal about the deficiencies. Which were
1) They told us to meet our driver at the drop-off area (quite specifically with a photo and an arrow) when everyone meets at the red meeting cube at the arrival area and we had to use our phones ($10/day) to figure out where we were actually meeting. I would have known where to go if I had not had such specific directions
2) For some reason the hotel had my reservation under ANN (my middle name) instead of my last name. This meant that when the scooter that I had rented was being dropped off at the hotel for me, they said I did not have a reservation and so the scooter company did not leave the scooter for me. (They did bring it after I got there)
3) The hotel had not been told of my arrival time so I couldn't get into the room until 2 pm and I had to wait around in the hotel for hours, tired and jet lagged. The hotel told me later that if they had been told, I could have gotten into the room earlier.
4) They said I had to call for a reservation on the canal boat trip 24 hours in advance (which would have meant calling from the US). When I called the company said that I just needed to tell them on that day
5) They said the time to walk to the canal boat location was 35 minutes and it was way more than that. The map they gave me to follow was lacking in detail at the end and I looked for an hour and a half and asked directions from people and never could find it. So I paid, but never got to take the trip.

There were also some problems with the hotel which wasn't actually the fault of the agency - the scooter I rented was quite large - much larger than the one I normally use at home. It barely fit in the elevator and it was quite difficult to get it into and out of the room. They also only had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and at lunch it was off limits and there was just a vending machine. The beds had foam mattresses and they kept sliding off the bed while I was sleeping. Etc.

Since I'm a crystal clear water lover, my top destinations would be:
1. Maldives
2. Bahamas
3. Cuba (just have to pick the right place)
4. Jamaica
5. Philippines

I have only been to the Bahamas on that list and am not really interested in the others. But for snorkeling or diving, Bonaire, Belize, Bermuda, the Virgin Islands, and Australia.

- Las Vegas
- Kenya
- Tel Aviv
- Croatia
- Iceland
I think the loss would go on and on.

France (Dordogne, Occitanie, Provence, Loire)
Bavaria
Scotland
Italy (Tuscany and Umbria)

Not sure if that's 4 or 8; depends on how you count. None of these is a first time, just returning to places we love. We're visiting Burgundy and Alsace this autumn so they are not on the list. If we had more money, we'd simply stay longer . . . or fly first class which would be lovely.

When are you coming to Italy?

Trying to list five is hard but if I really try it would probably be:

Madagascar
Antarctica
The Stans
Pitcairn Island
Kamchatka

Though if I think about tomorrow my list would most likely change.
