I am looking for a travel partner(s) to go somewhere in Europe, Japan, or Korea in 2020. Anyone interested? I am flexible on different locations, but look to go with people around my age(18-25). I am 18 years old, and taking a gap year before university. A little more about me on my profile:)

At 18 or 19 no one expects you to have loads of disposable money. Unless mommy and daddy will foot the bill.

Passport. You need a passport, if you do not have one already don't wait to the last minute to get one.

For overseas trips have at least a couple debit cards available with you. Also a couple credit cards too. Some medical-hospital insurance can be helpful. Sometimes people have accidents because they are careless or unlucky.

Unless you are loaded where cost doesn't matter - not all countries are the same for cost. Japan and Korea are not that cheap. Some countries in Europe are not that cheap too.

Not on your list Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. These countries are cheaper than Japan and Korea. Thailand is an easy first Asian country to begin with. Very tourist friendly with many young tourists visiting all the time. Maybe start simple with a round trip flight to Bangkok and from there visit nearby countries. (From N. America sometimes round trip is much cheaper than a one way ticket to Asia and return. Flying in Southeast Asia is not that expensive.)

Always research visa requirements. Safeguard your passport! Do not get it wet or write in it or mutilate it! Some stupid stuff will forever be remembered on the internet!

Safety. When meeting new people, especially men, do it in a safe location and NOT at your hotel room door! In some parts of Asia expect some adult men to expect you to welcome them with open arms and expect you to pay for their companionship too! Think safety!

Hi karazyal, I am aware that travelling(Europe especially) is costly. I however have had a job more than a couple of years now, so I am quite confident in my own capability to finance myself. I definitely do know hard earned money is easily disposable, but I am young and I have dreams of roaming the world.

Everything legal I mostly have figured out, as well as have time to figure out.

As for safety, I will be cautious. Thank you for your concern.
