Sure!
We are. Welcome. Where have you been?
We just got back from a month in Paris . . . another anniversary celebration.
Good to see you here.
I'm still here, and currently blogging about the VT Euromeet in Bulgaria few weeks ago Also gearing myself up to host next year's meet in Newcastle!!
I'm here - older and hopefully wiser and still alive. Leaving this evening for Paris
how nice to see familiar and fondly remembered names
where have i been in social media - sadly my style and the personalized blog platform of this site don't really work for me especially since all my images transferrred over totally out of order and without the written commentary. just too much to comtemplate starting over from scratch.
still working at 76 (thank you BHO) with a schedule that precludes writing and creating long dissertations.
but i still get my one week a year for european travel and scattered weekends over the last few years--
barcelona - as good or better than advertised, amazing week
lisbon - for a city with less blockbuster attractions than many major capitals, still a favorite city - fun to be in
palma de mallorca and madrid - not bad nothing special ( our travel companions did not help in this regard)
warsaw and krakow - unanticipated excellence - great vodka, astounding recent and older history, top flight sacred and secular art (viet stoss altarpiece, woman with an ermine) and great food, all at a reasonable price.
havana - total waste of time
montreal - great city, underestimated for a nice long weekend visit
maybe this year a resort on the algarve and a few more days in lisbon
as my work permits, i shall visit each of your pages.
I do miss vt
be well

The tips and the pages also transferred - not just the photos. So some of the commentary is there. I also backed up my VT using the procedure outlined by G. and others.
Hey. I'm here. Just blogging on our recent first trip to China. I have sort of lost interest a bit because TP doesn't have a meetings section. The groups doesn't work. I hope Peter has'n't forgotten. TTS Ann is planning another Orlando meet in November next year including a cruise from Miami. I am sure Sarah you understand that it's easier to arrange a meet if there is one site that has a meetings bit.
I kind of gave up on the photos. Too many to go through. You have to "locate" them and it's a nuisance if you try to be specific. I started a few blogs and have incorporated Tips into the blogs in a mild way by including web links and addresses. I upload the photos as I work and do them all together rather than try to find and fix the imported ones. The imported ones are probably lost in cyberspace forever . . .
This forum seems to lean heavily to the East so there aren't a lot of questions I can answer. I miss all the Forum activity on VT. It was always busy with lots of questions about places I visit. TP not so much.

This forum seems to lean heavily to the East ...
To the East of the world? Asia? Yes, possibly - and lots of questions are on mainstream destinations which can easily be Googled to get some answers, but there's nothing like first-hand experience.

I've just e-mail Peter about this. Obviously the ex-VT members here recognise this but it's surprising how refreshing it is to meet other travellers for the first time to just chat about travelling. It's possible to exchange posts on the forum or to exchange personal messages to discuss travel but actually sitting down over a drink with a few travellers and exchanging mutual tales of travel mishaps, must-sees, tips on getting visas and all the rest is a brilliant experience and actually works as a kick-up-the-backside to make you travel more.
We're actually meeting up with one TP member in a couple of weeks in Beirut but we arranged all that through personal messages and by using other travel sites. I did arrange to meet another TP member in Auckland a couple of years ago because he was passing through - we had a few beers and a walk up Mt Eden; well worth it. (I would have met AndyF in Auckland but he landed at Auckland Airport about thirty minutes before we left so we just missed each other - one day he'll be able to buy me that pint that I'm convinced he owes me!}
But I have met many travellers on other sites who have become good friends - it's definitely something I would encourage other travellers to do and if we can do it here, great!
