Hello, I am looking to stay in Bali for about a month in December - January. How about the climate there at this time?

I've never been to Bali and trying to understand which area to choose for staying. I would prefer the beach to be accessible by scooter with no longer than 30 min drive. Also I like ancient temples and vegan/vegetarian restaurants, would love to have some nice of them nearby. Something to be also not to much busy but still close to some central areas, with nice and beautiful environment.
I also like yoga in all means, may be there is something specific for Yoga lovers?

I also need a place with good internet for work (fast and with no interruptions preferably), also safe to leave a computer there with important data.

Is it possible at all to cross the Bali island on a scooter in one day and come back? Just trying to understand the distances if I want to see the island and if it would be better to rent couple of different accommodations at different sides of the island to be easier to travel around? From each place you would recommend what is the area approximately that is easy enough to travel on scooter in one day?

Thank you in advance.

Hey ! It's really nice you are visiting Bali :)

Generally December - January is rainy season in Indonesia, we only have 2 season here, so bring an umbrella will be helpful.
There are lots of popular areas in Bali, most prominent one are Ubud, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, etc.

I know some list of hotels serving vegetarian/vegan food:
- The Alchemist Bungalow & Restaurant
- Bambu Indah Resort
- Herb Library Ubud

There are loooots of hotels providing yoga workshop / retreats in Bali, just google it and you'll find plenty of options :)

For me, Karangasem (East Bali) and Ubud (Bali's cultural heart) are the best places to stay in Bali. The most well known places in East Bali are Tulamben (snorkeling village), Amed Beach, Pura Besakih Tirtagangga palace and many other attractive destination.

As for Ubud, surrounding villages like Campuhan, Penestanan, Peliatan and Batuan specialise in crafts and woodcarving which are sold all over the island. There are hundreds of shops selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, textiles, paintings and jewellery as well as some of the best art museums in the country, dozens of art studios, an excellent local craft market and galleries.

Hope that helps!
