I travel with my mom. She is terrified of us getting separated in unfamiliar places. If I traveled alone I could be more flexible. It is a mother-daughter issue that can't be explained.

Give her a cell phone.

But some people are just more fearful than others and it isn't anything that they can help.

Exactly. I can't do anything to make her change.

We have other reasons to book tour packages, but they will not help the OP.

Unless she wants to change. Or circumstances force her to change.

But we really don't want to wish for something like that to happen to her.

My mum has a similar fear since she has problems with her eyesight, (does your mum suffer some disability that intensifies her fear?) but I think her determination to see as much as possible forces her to overcome this fear, and I guess she must have enough trust in me that I won't lose her while navigating our way through unfamiliar cities. Though in saying that she is willing to sometimes leave my side, if our interests really divert, the most significant time was in Big Island Hawaii, I really wanted to see the sunset at Mauna Kea while my mum hates the cold so she did not want to go. In that case she said as long as I get her some food for dinner, I could go myself she would stay in the hotel get an early night sleep. Perhaps one day your mother will have the courage to test her own boundaries and find that her imagined fear was worst than the reality;).

Tenoi, my mom has severe hearing loss. Litening to people with heavy foreign accents makes it worse so it does not always help if the speaker knows English. She also is 72 and has a bad sense of direction.

A hearing loss isolates someone in a way that is hard to understand if you haven't experienced it. I was once at a seminar on hearing protection (ear muffs, ear plugs etc), and the speaker said at the beginning that at the end of the day, we were going to have to chose to lose our sight or lose our hearing and we would chose to lose our sight. And after hearing him speak, I would have chosen to lose my sight

Basically i want to visit New York city to paris. Because i love paris. Paris is my favourite place i want to visit.

Why would you want a 'Package' when travel to/in Europe is so easy?

It isn't easy from everywhere, and if someone hasn't done any traveling to speak of, or has a handicap, they might prefer or need to have everything organized for them.
