According to the BBC (who admittedly are becoming a pretty flaky news source these days), following a dispute between the operating companies you'll no longer be able to travel within the UK on an Interrail pass.

Or will this be a row which will blow over?

I doubt it very much. The BBC is just one of numerous sources, including the Man in Seat Sixty-One, which have announced that UK train operators will pull out of the Interrail pass as of 1st Jan 2020.

Blinkered petty-mindedness imo though, of course, absolutely fine if the only concern is to keep visitors coming to London. :-/

Hah!

They've just announced that they 'made an agreement' yesterday and they're going back on the decision they announced less than 24 hours ago. Amazing! (Cynical? Moi?)

So Interrail and Eurail passes will continue to work in the rest of the UK and not just in London.

Well, fair play....I don't think anyone would expect a decision announced to the media would be turned on its head within 24 hours! It does make one wonder if it was all a deliberate ploy. :-)
