Has anybody been to Bali before? Any recommendations on hotels, villas or tours? Or best areas to stay? I’m a first time traveler to Bali so starting to find the best options. Traveling in February next year.

Any respondents wishing to recommend tour companies etc please do so by private message, as we often get such requests as setups for spam.

You could fill out your profile so it looks more like you are a genuine traveler/tourist and not setting up some spam replies.

  • * On this forum there are some posts for Bali, some not too old. Hunt some up and read the advice.

Research the entry requirements for your particular country.

When I was in Bali year ago, I'd liked a day tour to watertemples!

Denpasar is mostly just the area around the airport as I remember it.

Take care of the respirator you used when diving. When I went to change my diving suit, I forgot the respirator on the chair. When I came back, the staff took it away. But they denied their guilt and asked me to pay for another one. How angry!

For me, Karangasem (East Bali) and Ubud (Bali's cultural heart) are the best places to visit in Bali. The most well known places in East Bali are Tulamben (snorkeling village), Amed Beach, Pura Besakih Tirtagangga palace and many other attractive destination.

As for Ubud, surrounding villages like Campuhan, Penestanan, Peliatan and Batuan specialise in crafts and woodcarving which are sold all over the island. There are hundreds of shops selling antiques, woodcarvings, crafts, textiles, paintings and jewellery as well as some of the best art museums in the country, dozens of art studios, an excellent local craft market and galleries.
