Hi Everyone!
I am a solo traveler, quite laid back but adventurous. Looking to go to Maldives in September from the USA. I'd like to meet up or travel with any and all companions. Age or sex is not an issue, but you have to be flexible, honest and fun. Hit me up! -Mark

The Maldives is great but not really a solo traveler location, there is very little to see on Male and the resorts themselves are perfect but for just enjoying nature and not looking around.

Thank you Mark- based on my research and as one can see on YouTube and other forums, a lot of solo travelers visit Maldives every year, and I would like to be one of them. Not staying at a resort, I am thinking of AirBNB and smaller hotels and island hopping. I appreciate your response regardless.

Anywhere can be a destination for solo travellers and when we were there a couple of years ago there were many solo travellers enjoying the islands, the diving and the beaches, some in resorts but most in BnBs and small hotels. Enjoy the Maldives, Mark.

I haven't visited the Maldives, so this comment is based upon the experience of friends who have visited.
I don't think being 'Solo' is a problem if you're very interested in water sports/beaches.
The problem is that there is not much to see and do except diving/snorkelling/jet ski and beaches, so being a 'couple' reduces the boredom if they aren't your type of activities.
That's not to say there's nothing else, but there isn't much.
