I'm so glad I found this site - very neat and secure with loads of interesting blogs.

Me? I've been travelling since getting the bug late(ish) at the age of 23, initially with short European haunts but later on long haul to the far east. So many stories to tell and I'll do my best in the blogs section as time goes by.

In a few weeks I'll be taking off for my 2nd trip to Japan this year. This time I'll be treating myself to a AF La Premiere luxury ride eventually landing in Sapporo to take in a couple of Rugby World Cup matches followed by a bit of quality sightseeing. If anyone from here is around then do please join me for a tipple or two.

John - Manchester UK

Welcome to TravellersPoint. I read your first blog entry. Exciting! There is nothing like a volcano to make flying an adventure. We spent 5 unplanned days in London (supposed to be in southern France) when the Iceland volcano blew in 2011. We had lots of company and met many fellow trapped travelers. In retrospect it was kind of fun. BA paid our hotel and most of our food; the Toulouse hotel refunded our deposit and Peugeot held our leased car for us and unasked, gave us a refund for the missed days. SAS got us on a train to Paris where we got another train to our car and house in the Dordogne. I note you used SAS too.

Looking forward to following your adventures.

Thank you Beausoleil.

I used to think random events made travel more exciting but so much now ... I had a flight cancelled due to a (AF) strike last year but that worked out OK in end, I don't need excitement except in my intended location.
