"Someone gave me a tip of using noise cancelling headphones instead of ear plugs. I tried it on my flight to Europe this year and really it is so much quieter..."

Probably too big to keep their little mouths closed on these mobile noise makers!

I like to be passively alert on a plane in case an emergency comes up and the flight attendants need assistance. Or some idiot tries to open a door or assaults someone.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

That depends on if you are in first or business class, then I would have no problem with any long haul flight.

If cattle class, it depends on the people next to you and around you.

I have been on too many flights where I have had enough even before the flight started taxiing before take off. Then it is just a matter of enduring it.

Instead of all the usual nonsense we get before take off, which most people have heard so many times and which is printed out on a sheet in front of you, how about they tell people to respect others and not to elbow them in the ribs, not to make too much noise, not to let babies endlessly scream, not to jam their chair back as soon as we reach cruising height (even on short haul), and some of the disgusting habits we read of in articles, etc?

Add 50 minutes to flight to avoid airspace.

Quoting Dymphna

Add 50 minutes to flight to avoid airspace.

In that case I am happy to spend more time in the air;). If only that Ukrainian plane had been grounded.
