Traditionally, services for All Hallows/All Saints Day began on the evening of 31st and ended in the evening of 1st November. The 2nd is All Souls Day, when all the dead are remembered (not just the saints). Family graves are often visited on All Souls and, in some countries, candles are lit on the grave (a practice which still continues in some European countries). In some countries there are bigger celebrations (e.g. the Day of the Dead in Mexico).

This is a common practice in some countries in the Caribbean also, like Grenada
