Hi there I’m travelling to Australia in may on a working holiday visa and I’m doing it solo. I’m a bit nervous because it’s something I’ve never done before but I need a fresh start. I was wondering how hard is it to meet people, find work, get around just a bit of general knowledge for my lack of experience I’ve been told base is a good place to stay as Sydney is my first destination.

Whats happening Danny!

Good call on Sydney man, you will have a right laugh!! First time nerves are common, but seriously not needed.

Hostel life is a great way to meet people, and honestly don't panic, you will make friends from the minute you check in!

Base is a great hostel, clean, tidy and has everything you need. There is a backpacker bar attached to it and its great to meet people and isn't too expensive. Another great hostel is WakeUp! Right next to central train station, clean, tidy, affordable and has Side Bar underneath it. Banging little bar, good music and they run different nights with comps to win bar tabs etc.

Give me a shout if you have any more questions!
