Yes, but when it does happen I accept it as just another cultural difference. :-)

Yes, culture difference it is indeed! :) and of course the touting is more intense when you are as clearly tourist as I am with my white (never tanning) skin :)

We encountered quite funny seller in Morocco, he was selling fridge magnets. He asked first that where we were from, and when he had his answer he said "Oh, Finland. People from Finland don't buy magnets, they only want ice cream" and walked away.

Hey everyone! :)

I wanted to start an hypothetical conversation about travel destinations because I am currently suffering from an nasty travel fever..Or if to be honest, it's quite wholetime temperature but this time of the year it is more intense than in summertime :)

In the place I work it is difficult for me to get more than an week off during the winter.

I am living in Finland.
And before you say anything about winter..This winter there has been almost non snow, strong winds and lot of rains, rain as in water or sleet, but not snow.

So my question is this, if you were me, where would you go if you were seeking refuge from the rain and awful weather?

Thank you!

I think the best cure for rain is to read some good adventure book.

If I were you then I would like to visit Barcelona and Venice. Barcelona is a stunning destination year-round and has to offer for every type of travelers. Moreover, the Barcelona Carnival celebration is awesome. Indeed, it is fun and exciting. Due to its Mediterranean location, one does not experience the very low temperatures. Exploring this floating city Valencia is indeed wonderful. Of course, it is a summer hotspot but the most famous annual event, Carnival is held in February that is really fun-filled and exciting.
