Holland America last week cancelled our two cruises for June and July (Norway, the Arctic, etc.) for which we expect to receive full refunds to our credit card in about two months. We received a full refund, in future travel credits, for our Delta Air Lines flights. Unfortunately our hotel in Amsterdam, the port of departure, declined to refund our prepaid accommodations. Going forward we'll not prepay accommodations to save a bit of money.

Travel planning is extremely difficult, if not impossible, at this time. Airline schedules are constantly changing with routes continuing to be dropped, etc. The patchwork quilt of lockdowns and other travel restrictions are difficult to track. Hawaii, for example, now not only bans sitting and lounging on beaches but also walking there (except to go into the water to swim or surf). Police are actively enforcing the restrictions.

A global recession is likely to dampen any rebound in travel.

I've largely written off travel this year except perhaps some trips in the U.S. to destinations as yet undetermined (perhaps to Arkansas and North Dakota, the only two states I've never visited). Still, hope springs eternal . . . .

My friend and I have rebooked our cruise from Dubai to Rome via the Strait of Hormuz and the Suez Canal for next March 21. We're hoping that it won't be cancelled again.

I was supposed to travel to Spain this summer. So sad that this trip won`t happen. So I have to rebook it for next August of 2021. Hope this all get better.

I was supposed to go to Ireland in May. Cancelled it and requested a voucher from the airline. Still waiting for it.
