Money, including back up sources of spending money in debit and credit cards. (Travel health and hospital insurance may not cover pandemic situations.)

This COVID 19 thing is still going on. Your post sounds more troll like since you are "leaving tomorrow" and still have a lot of basic questions and research to do. But the info on any replies could be helpful for other posters.

Hand sanitizer and wet-wipes. (May still be in short supply in Thailand and Philippines. Check with expat forums.)

You may need a Health Certificate, how to get them - don't know. Could depend on the in-between connecting country. Look into this. Do you make connections in Taiwan or Hong Kong or Singapore??

  • * Know what is allowed in your carry on bag. Watch the size of any liquids you have when passing through TSA type security checks. (Too much it will be confiscated.)

I keep up with Thailand more than the P.I. Some info just yesterday concerning Health Certificates. See Thai Visa Forum.

Things are sort of in a "state of flux" and can change any minute. Best be prepared for the possibility of not making the flight back home on time. Also, consider the possibility of "self quarantine" if suspected of having a Wuhan Virus. No guarantee that plane tickets will be refunded if you cancel.

One of the dirtiest places on a plane is the seat back tray. (Think baby diapers being changed on them during flights when seat belt is on. I always have some wet wipes with me to wipe down stuff around my seat for the long flight.)

Thank you! Definitely not a fake post lol
Our domestic flight to Philippines island was canceled sonwe rerouted from Manila to Bangkok. We’re hoping with less travellers less risk. You’re absolutely right we don’t know what the flights will look like in two weeks. We’re hoping Thailand will be ok. I appreciate the feedback so much. It’s our first trip to Asia.

Are you already in the Philippines or still scheduled to fly from LAX?

I have flown from LAX with stops at different times in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea.

Not sure if in transit through Hong Kong, Taipei or Tokyo requires a health certificate. Or only a longer stay in those countries. The health certificate thing from previous post is something just recent.

Good luck.

Thank you all so much! We made it to Thailand. Happy to be here safely. Flew into BKK to Chiang Mai and on our way to Krabi tomorrow then Phuket next week. I appreciate the feedback on such short notice. Fyi they did scan me at the BKK airport.

When I was flying into both Manila and Bangkok during other "flu" years they would do quick scans.

Some tourists in Thailand are now spending their holidays in hotel rooms in "self quarantine."

Keep abreast on what's happening around you.

Good luck.
