Hey guys.

so myself and my husband are currently in the UK and are wanting to travel overland down to CT (we are both from there). We would fly, but we thought we may as well see some places road tripping down there. I was wondering if anyone else had some ideas/ wants to join to split some expenses?
I don’t even know how to start planning. We only have experience driving in SA, Namibia and Botswana, and I’m sure there are so many more things to think about when travelling through the Sahara desert.

Hi, Olivia! Welcome to Travellerspoint!
Have a safe journey
I have read an article about driving through Sahara and I must say it's attractive and tiresome at the same time...
Anyhow, enjoy your stay and be careful!

Suggest you rethink your plans. Driving in the Sahara, West Africa and Central Africa isn't like traveling overland in Namibia, Botswana and South Africa. There are many difficulties; and unless you're absolutely determined to go you'll find that those with some experience in the regions will be reluctant to spend much time cataloging the many issues. Having said that, there are other online venues, on Facebook and elsewhere, that can help provide information on visiting some of Earth's most remote destinations, including some you're likely to traverse if you decide to go.

It seems you could be very helpful so, hopefully, she'll see your post and respond.
