Can I suggest if you're trying to identify and friend each other, you may want to fill out your profiles. Many of them are still blank so you're not helping your mates find you.

Alas, that won’t help much as most of us know each other only by our handles, so wsm78 I recognise from Insiders due to his handle but mowgli I just don’t recall that handle at all, though it now turns out he mostly lurked which is not unusual. Personally, whilst I posted and contributed regularly to Marriott Insiders I tend mostly to lurk on Flyertalk.

I do know a few however because we’ve met up at our biennial Weekend TIPPLEs, a self-organised meeting of the Insiders. In 2016 we were at the JW Marriott in Houston, in 2018 it was the Renaissance Capital View in DC, and the next one is booked in for 25 & 26 September at the Westin in Seattle. All are welcome and CountyCollector and I will certainly be posting further information about it after Easter.

It's not tagging, but you can subscribe to threads and blogs you may want to follow.

I saw IAHFLYR posted a new blog, and one of my photos has been "Featured" in another section of the site, so I'd say it may not be hard to see what everyone's doing if you maintain activity. I'm still getting a feel for the site, but it seems like there's a lot of useful information and friendly people. And I like the no ads or promos, though it's quite different from how Insiders operated. I suppose the Facebook group could be used for that aspect, if needed.

A Group on here may suit you for offers and promotions. Unlike the Forums, you moderate your own group however you wish (subject only to the site owner).

It's still worth filling out your profiles as you'll make friends here more quickly. Also, a lot of members check profiles before answering forum posts and if there's nothing there it looks like you're not fully engaged with the site and may never come back to see the reply - also profile info helps people give more targeted replies :)

Your meetings sound a bit like the Virtual Tourist ones, although we had (and continue to have) many more. There's an annual Euro Meet every May (sadly not this year however) which attracts usually 40-60 people even now the site has closed (and several times in the past had over 100), regular big meetings in Australia, occasional ones in the US and Asia, and lots of smaller meetings ranging from just two to around twenty people, all over the world! I hope you are able to go ahead with your Seattle meet. There is a VT planned for Chicago a week before that which is hanging in the balance, I would say :(

Another Marriott refugee trying this out for the first time as well. Looked at the discord site jsucool had set up but that seems more like a chat forum than what this or Insiders are.

Will give this a shot and hope the community can rebuild something similar to what we had at Insiders as I thought the sharing, data and comaraderie were all pretty cool!

Great to see ya and have to agree with regarding discord on the chat thing. I'm liking this place and figuring it out slowly. Blogs are easy and I am lovin' the map.

I figured out how to post pics to my gallery so that’s a start!

And still another Marriott Insiders refugee. I admit I haven't been active there lately, but I do miss it. Thanks much for giving us this suggestion.

Re: Discordapp: well, now it wants a phone number to verify before it will let me in again even though my email address was verified. And they want to try to track my location and communicate with weird ports on my computer. If I wanted all that I'd have joined the FB group!

Anyhow, this is much nicer. Thanks again.
