Great to see so many old friends and potential new friends here. Still finding my way around - but suddenly now have plenty of time to learn new tricks. Was still coming to terms with how much life can change in the blink of an eye, when Marriott decided that more change was needed...que sera - but I'd rather hang out here than play their game.

It's still worth filling out your profiles as you'll make friends here more quickly. Also, a lot of members check profiles before answering forum posts and if there's nothing there it looks like you're not fully engaged with the site and may never come back to see the reply - also profile info helps people give more targeted replies

It is always good to see that a new member is fully engaged with Travellerspoint and is not merely looking for some service.

Hi everyone, just wanted to say hi and welcome to Travellerspoint
It's always an interesting thing welcoming new existing communities of people into the fold 
As others have said, our philosophy is one of friendliness combined with a low tolerance of promotional activity.
A group is actually a pretty good idea for your use - particularly if you are looking to post promo codes, etc.. That would be ok in a group like that, but not in the forums.
