Hello,

I have a problem becouse Im planning a trip to New Zeland at the end of October 2020. As for now, all boundaries are close. I have already booked a flight and hotel in New Zealand. Do you think that I should cancel my plans becouse of the coronavirus? Will I get a refund?
Please write back if you have some time :)

Don't worry you have time :) Maybe in this month situation will be better- if not
in may/june you can call to this hotel and ask about change the term or refund - everybody understand this situation.
Wait one month and controll the situation in the world

Zofia Malicka, I think you answered your question on another thread:

"If the trip is planned only for October, I think you can still wait for the situation to develop."

Currently I think NZ is one of the more difficult places to plan for.

They caught the infections nice and early so they seem intent on eradicating it, rather than simply flattening the curve as other countries are doing. That may be good for residents but it creates a problem for reopening their border anytime before there's a vaccine.

I had a half-formed plan for a NZ trip at the end of the year but I'm abandoning the idea, I don't see their border opening to travellers by then.

At the moment, NZ's borders are closed and they are likely to remain so to non-residents trying to get to NZ from Covid-19 infected countries. If Australia is successful in eliminating the virus, there are tentative plans for travel between NZ and Australia but that looks a few months away. Plans for the rest of the world? Nah, not yet.
