I don't want to go to any country where there is a war, and I agree with DAO and henna that I have no desire to go to North Korea.

I really don't want to go to the Middle East, the Orient or Africa. I have been a couple of places in Africa, and to Lombok. There are some places in those areas that I would be more likely or less likely to go than other places (I'd like to see the Great Wall), but there are so many countries there that I can't pick a least desirable one.

I like traveling in Europe, South America and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand etc) and there are enough places in those areas that I have not been to or would like to re-visit so that I am unlikely to run out of destinations.

Apart from war zones (hopefully temporary), I have no desire to go to the North Pole. Just ice (no land actually) for most of the year and apart from time and especially money most people go there just to go there and scratch it of the list.

There are some countries in the world that I am not attracted to, nor do I see much potential for a nice (doesn't need to be comfortable whatsoever) trip. Countries that come to mind include Nigeria, Pakistan for example. Not exactly in a war, not very safe either (but large parts are safe), but probably not very welcoming in general. Some heavily populated and poluted cities, heat etc.

Again, just my perspective and not to say others haven't enjoyed it. Nor do I want to offend people. But just my feeling...;)

I think I'll visit Venice. It's a wonderful place. I want to see it before it may go under water.;)

ok, I'm all for Venice, but what's the place you LEAST want to visit...hence the question at the beginning?

IMHO, I would name Afghanistan, where no part of the country appears to be safe, even though the country attracts people with its diverse landscape

It is very easy to find differences between things. It is harder to find similarities. It seems also to be harder to figure out what places you do NOT want to visit than it is to list places that you DO want to visit.

I have gone to places where I didn't think that I wanted to go and done things that I didn't think I wanted to do, and generally the visit has turned out better than I expected. Not always, but usually I can find something to be pleased about. (I can also find faults but it doesn't mean that I was not overall happy with the trip)T

Sometimes I go to places that I really wanted to go to and find that they were not what I expected, and not in a good way. It would probably be easier to ask - not what country do you not want to visit, but what place that you have been would you not ever want to revisit. That you found nothing positive to say about the place. I started to say that for me that place would be Bowie, but then I remembered that there is a racetrack there (horse racing) and I might like to go to the track.

Sometimes it's a good idea to go places you don't want to go. I didn't want to go to Paris the first time we visited France. My husband insisted so I gave in and planned 3 days there at the beginning of the trip. It took about 5 minutes and I was hooked. We've been back so many times I've lost count, even stayed a full month two different times . . . and I can never get enough. I love it. Right now I can't remember why I didn't want to go in the first place, probably because I don't particularly care for cities. But for me, somehow Paris is different. It's not city-like at all, just a lot of villages that grew together.

Anyway, sometimes it's a good idea to try something. If you don't like it, you don't have to return.

Any of the 'Stans, most of west and central Africa and what used to be called The Guineas in South America or Paraguay.
