No they don't - at least they don't for me. I just tried it again. I added a new section to the blog I am currently writing (re-writing). I didn't put anything in the posting time, but I put the correct dates for that section of the trip (2007-11-27 to 2007-11-28) And the section did not come after 2007-11-25 and before 2007-11-30. It entered as 2020-05=20

I can't explain it. It works fine for me.

Maybe it was because I didn't do the map first. But it didn't work for me either time

I don't think this problem can be related to the map. Maybe you have a bug? It sounds like you're doing it correctly, from what you say.

I've tried it three times - I have the correct dates of travel, I have the map attached - everything except the posting date, and it always posts on the date I am posting it and not on the date of the trip.

I accidentally posted a section before I finished putting in the photos yesterday, so I just worked on it with the wrong date until I got it finished and then changed the posting date.

I have been unchecking the box to have TP notified if I am going to publish and then immediately save as a draft. Then when I'm ready to post, I check it again. So I hope that clears up the problem of disappearing blogs.

Yes, it will always show the date posted as the date posted, but should order them in the date you enter for actual travel. Have a look at my past travels blog (https://toonsarahvt.travellerspoint.com/1/). I wrote up various trips there at different times but they are all listed in the order I took them. So I wrote them in this order: Rajasthan, Ecuador, Japan, New Mexico, Senegal, Uzbekistan. But if you look at the contents list (https://toonsarahvt.travellerspoint.com/toc/) you will see that they come in chronological order of date travelled, not date written, so: Uzbekistan, New Mexico, Ecuador, Japan, Rajasthan, Senegal.

That box relates to subscribers being notified, not TP friends, so I don't think that will make any difference, but I guess it's worth a try?

The place I unchecked is called
Entries are listed on Travellerspoint

That doesn't sound like subscribers to me,

I don't have all my blogs in one big blog like you do, so what I'm talking about is the individual pages for each trip. Does that make a difference? I don't know. All I know is that when I initially Publish a section it will be the date that I published it. The one that I accidentally published before I meant to was listed as the most recent (2020-05-25). The trip date was 2007-12-15 and 2007-12-16 and when I changed the published date to 2007-12-15, it moved below one that was accidentally listed as publish 2007-12-16 but where the trip date was 2007-12-14. I had to change the second published date to 2007-12-14 to get them in the right order.

Ah right, sorry - I haven't spotted that box so I thought you meant the subscriber one.

As for the rest, I make published date the same as travel date and it orders them correctly, so I can't see what you're doing differently - maybe there is a bug of some sort after all?

I haven't seen the subscriber one. I don't think have enough subscribers for it to matter. Especially since my stuff is not all in one big blog but in different sections which are just linked together from within the blog.

We are talking at cross purposes - I think because I'm talking to different people and they are saying different things.

I was making the published date the same as the travel date so that the blogs would sort correctly. But someone (Sally I think) said that the published date didn't matter - that they would sort correctly if I just had the travel dates in there. I have been trying to get it to sort on the travel dates and it just won't.

My problem was that in order to work on the blogs and have them stay in order and not be all mixed up while I was working on them, I was publishing very briefly on the travel date and then immediately going back and saving them a draft. So people who saw that I had published something and wanted to read it got a dead link. You said that maybe that was why none of my blogs ever appeared because the people who decided on those got fed up with getting dead links. So I have been trying to figure out how to avoid them and still have things in the right order while I am working on them.

I decided to use a Draft blog to experiment a little. Had very mixed results. First, I always type my blogs from day 1 to the end of the trip and always in trip order. I don't always link to a map because I haven't done that many maps.

I had two entries in the Draft blog so I decided to try to put an entry between the two entries. First I changed the date of the second one to leave an extra day. Next I created a new entry with the date set between the previous two entries. The oddest thing happened.

First, nothing happened. The new entry was listed as the last entry, not between the previous entries as I wanted.

Next, I refreshed the screen and it magically appeared where I wanted it right between the previous entries.

I refreshed the screen again (changing nothing else) and it popped right back to the end.

Following that, nothing I did would make it reappear between the first two entries. It was always out of order. I even closed TP, logged out, logged back in and went to the blog and it was not between the previous entries where it should have been.

I have no idea why it moved between entries once and then moved back. Since it was a fake entry, I deleted it and fixed the dates on the previous last entry so it had the proper dates and someday I'll finish that blog . . . but not until I finish the one I'm working on right now.

It seems like there should be a way to add entries in the middle if you want to. For instance, what if you forgot a day and wanted to put it in? Further, I type my blogs in order but everyone may not want to do that. There may be special days they want to put in before they forget them and then return to the original order but keeping everything in date order. What if you accidentally deleted an entry and wanted to put it back in? There are all kinds of reasons to not type them in order but you should be able to put them in order.

So all you techies on here, what is the solution?
