Hi!
I'm new to travelling and was wondering what websites people use to research your travels? Also, where do you guys get inspo for a trip?
Or any websites you guys find helpful.

Fill out your profile so you don't come across as a spammer.

Do you have a particular part of the world on your wish list for traveling?

This TP website can be helpful. Click on the 3 lines on the top blue line where it says "MENU" and look for the Community Travel Guide.

Google can be helpful too for quick info. But research the info you get for accuracy and timeliness before spending money.

Suggest Atlas Obscura for inspiration.

YouTube can give you a preview of places you're interested in visiting.

I usually email the local tourist offices where I'm planning to travel. They have up to date information and often give you local discounts.

We use booking.com and Gites de France for accommodations.

I use kayak.com for flights but using their information, I book directly with the airline.

I also use kayak.com to research flights and for what to see I usually check out a few guidebooks from the library and then research further on the Internet.

As far as where to go, heck that is so individual, we ended up going to Costa Rica one year when we had originally planned to visit Brazil and RIo but scrubbed it due to a very high crime rate. Another time we went to Buenos Aires because I got a heck of a deal on a Travelzoo promotion (for good reason, it was the rainy season and we got a lot of rain).

Try and decide what type of vacation you want - for example I love beach vacations and my late husband liked visiting cities which don't interest me with a few exceptions. You get the picture.
