My name is Jennifer, I am about to turn 40 and looking to make some new friends to travel as my own have gotten busier with life. I don't think traveling alone is for me as I can be shy at first, I would prefer to at least chat a bit and see if we connect since I've never really done this completely on my own before. I love the water and anything diving related and have been a cave diver for years. I have traveled fairly extensively in the US and Mexico so I would prefer outside of the US at least. Pretty open to anywhere near the water or even back to Mexico that I love so much. You don't have to be a diver either. Anyone interested in some new adventures?

Hi Jennifer. Welcome to TravellersPoint. I see you have filled out your Profile Page. That will really help you to meet people here.

BTW, there are quite a few women here who travel solo and love it so you might want to check their pages and see where they go and how they interact with people. Follow the forums and you will quickly find them. With luck they will see this and introduce themselves here. When you find them, click on their names in the banner and you'll go to their Profile Page that lists their blogs and forum replies.

Have fun.

Hi Jennifer,

Travelling alone somewhere, doesn't mean staying alone. Especially staying near the water you generally meet tons of new People, especially if you stay in a hostel. There is generally a common room or common area, where you will meet other People. Of cause there is no guarantee, but I think you will do fine. Most people near the water I met, where really relaxed and open to meeting new people.
I travel alone since more than 10 years and was never alone since my first trip. Staying in a hotel instead of a B&B or Hostel, is not a great way to meet People. Now I'm fine alone, but you sound like it wouldn’t be your cup of coffee.

Also I have two ideas how you might meet new people here. While it’s great you are open, if you choose a location, it might be more interesting for other people. Also with Corona at the moment the travel it might be more difficult at the moment to find someone. So you might want to post again, after Corona calms down.

I would travel with you, but except snorkelling, I’m not too much into water sports.

Best Wishes for you.

Quoting Owais

Hello everyone i am new here

Hi Owais. You will get a better response to this if you start a new thread. This will only be read by people who are already on this thread. Go to Travel Forums and click on Start a New Topic. That will be posted on the General Travel Forum and everyone can see it.

Before you do that, you might want to fill out your Profile Page here on TravellersPoint. Most of us look at a Profile Page before we answer any questions. It really helps to know some of your travel interests so we can guide you to things you would enjoy rather than things we enjoy which might be very different. I see that you did put your citizenship and name on the Profile Page and that is a very good thing. It's much easier to answer travel questions when we know where you are starting. The rules are different for every country and it can get confusing.

Welcome to TravellersPoint and I hope you enjoy your time here.

I was just thinking with covid going on would anybody like to chat and make some plans while we are stuck? Traveling alone is pretty much not in the cards for me but a couple chats and knowing I'd get along with someone would definitely convince me.

Jennifer.

Hello, fellow travelers!

I'm glad to meet you all :)
I'm new here and I desperately want to go somewhere as I feel so frustrated rn.
Does anyone have an idea about the time when we all will be able to travel with no limits as it was before the pandemic?
I still hope for the best

No-one here or anywhere else can foretell the future and there is absolutely no point in just guessing.

People weren't able to travel 'with no limits' long before this crisis occurred. Apart from the obvious limitations of personal health, personal finances and work some countries require visas, some countries won't grant visas to certain citizenships, some countries won't allow entry to people with criminal records, some countries are suffering devastating wars and some countries severely restrict the areas where visitors can go and what they can see.

In this crisis we, like everyone else, must just wait patiently for individual countries to open up to visitors.....and, meanwhile, be grateful the fact that, unlike billions of people across the world, we have the means and freedom to travel outside our own country or...in many cases....outside our own local area.
