I agree with the idea of places with not many people! But, oddly, I hear Chile is doing quite badly with coronavirus, Bolivia too I believe. I don't know if that is down to their politicians' approach to it, or if they're getting overspill from their neighbour Brazil where is definitely does look like politicians failing.

Indeed, Brazilian politicians ARE failing, but as well as the USA, Brazil is a federal state, which means every state has its approach relating the pandemic (I'm glad to say Rio de Janeiro is having a significant advance in the downfall of cases). Plus, it's almost impossible to catch a flight or cross the borders in any other way these days. I know a friend that had huge trouble catching a flight from Dubai to São Paulo, and that was in March. Either way, Chile is the second most cheap country in South America (cheapest after Argentina), and has beautiful landscapes that is worth the visit. So, when all of this is over, and Coronavirus is no longer a threat, I do strongly recommend a trip there.

For traveling in? If so, Colombia and Bolivia spring to mind as being cheaper than Argentina and Chile.

Hi. My plan will be going back to Georgia (not the one in US but the one between Europe/Asia) Its a super cheap country with a wonderful and one of the best house-made wine I'd ever tried (not even 1 USD for a glass!!!)
My second plan is to go back to Canada
Cant wait this situation is getting better :)

We gave an American hitchhiker a lift once I still remember his story of crossing the Sahara in a camel train. It took weeks and he was taught how to comb the camel's fur to knit himself a pair of socks on the journey.

My option to travel to India! This is one of my favorite countries to explore and to experience the museums, beaches, trekking, camping and hill stations.

I am itching for lockdown to end so I can travel to Japan. My girlfriend and I were meant to go for 2 weeks at the end of March to see the Sakura (cherry blossom trees) but sadly the trip was cancelled.

We had a great itinerary planned - staying in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, with day trips to Mount Fuji, Nara, Hiroshima and to see the snow monkeys. We’d booked to eat in the Tokyo Skytree restaurant too and a Kaiseki restaurant in Kyoto.

It’s a real shame that it was cancelled but we’re hoping to go in November instead to see all the autumn colours. Hopefully the Coronavirus will be gone by then, but it’s obviously important to be safe and wait until we can travel again properly.

I have a trip booked early this year to visit my home town (Ho Chi Minh city) and we planned to combine to visit Japan and South Korea in October, but now our flights got cancelled. The moment we can travel, we will def go to Japan. We live in Sweden :)

Some hope for everyone: we arrived in Ningxia desert yesterday flying in from Shanghai... everything takes longer, security check, boarding, disembarking... for example we had to wait 1h just for hotel staff to finish all procedures, but it’s nice to get away and discover new places... our daughter saw the yellow river for the first time... while talking around, hotel/taxi/restaurant are supposedly around 30% of their normal business level. And truth is that we’re in a rather lost place to start with (Zhongwei 中卫) and there’s clearly not many people to disturb camels... besides, lots of places are simply closed. Being a foreigner, people do look at me in a different way which somehow saddens me. I travelled around China for two decades, and it’s the first time that in some place I don’t feel as welcome (people quickly putting on their mask, or clearly not willing to talk to me), creating a distance I’ve seldom felt... but it’s not everywhere, and overall we feel safe and are enjoying the trip so far. Hopefully the end is near, and everyone will be able to travel safely soon...
