This quite an amusing project someone started on FaceBook. They take one star online reviews of national parks in the United State and turn them into posters:

Subpar Parks

I once worked with a guy who fancied a particular campground in Washington State. His reason: It was a two-minute drive to the shops from his tent.

Upon finding this out I asked if there was anything he disliked about the campground. His response: The river was too noisy and the birds squawked a lot in the morning.

I get the feeling he may have contributed - directly or not - to the Subpar Parks page...

Those are hysterical. Made me think of the huge RV (caravan/trailer) that parked next to our tiny tent at one National Park. They ran their air conditioning all night and kept their outside porchlight on all night. Since we were in a tent about 20 feet away, we listened to their television and air conditioner, and were lighted by their porchlight all night. We couldn't help but wonder why they were camping. The kids stayed in the machine all night playing video games and one of the games made a sound just like my alarm clock when the kid won so we listened to an alarm clock until about one in the morning. They could have stayed home and done the same thing.

We all approach National Parks differently. I do wish they had separate campgrounds for tents though. I like darkness at night and prefer animal sounds to television sets and air conditioners.

I do wonder why some people go to wilder more natural places - they clearly don't understand or appreciate them!

They may not understand they are wilder or natural. That implies some research and lots of folks head off on vacation on the recommendation of a person they may have spoken to only briefly. Sounds weird but isn't that unusual.
